Lagos State government said on Wednesday that with effect from November 1st, 2019, public servants in the state are to start enjoying the new minimum wage of N35,000, following approval by it of its implementation.
The Federal Government had fixed payment of N30,000 as new national minimum wage, with the state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, promising to pay the state workers above the amount.
According to reports, a circular was issued by the Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola on Wednesday stating that Sanwo-Olu, in his determination to improve the welfare and wellbeing of public servants in Lagos State, had graciously approved the implementation of the new minimum wage with effect from 1st November, 2019.
