The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria revived the fight-to-finish spirit of the Nigerian football by coming from behind to defeat Ecuador in the Under-17 FIFA World Cup by 3:2.
Nigeria opened the 5-goal encounter with a superb finish from Ibrahim Said at just 5 minutes into the first forty-five.
Daniel Janadu of Nigeria, however, scored an unfortunate own-goal at 10th minute before Johan Andreé Mina made it two for Ecuador at 56th minute into the second half.
But it was the Golden Eaglets who had the last laugh through an Ibrahim Said’s hattrick, ensuring Nigeria booked a place in Round 16 of the tournament.
Nigeria who dominated the game had 17 shots with 5 hitting the target and 54 per cent ball possession.
The Golden Eaglets are now on top of Group B with 6 points and 3 goals difference. Having defeated Hungary in their first game, Nigeria will now play Australia on Tuesday, November 1, 2019….
