The first official image from Kate Wright and Rio Ferdinand’s romantic wedding has been released.
The couple got married in a lavish ceremony, which took place on Friday, September 27,at the luxurious D Maris Bay hotel in Marmaris, Turkey.
The image revealed by OK! magazine shows the couple posing at an idyllic backdrop with the former TOWIE star Kate, 28, rocking an ivory lace fishtail Berta gown, which features a long train and floor-length veil.
Former football ace Rio, 40, rocked a dark three-piece suit and was pictured wrapping his arm around his new bride just moments after they said ‘I do.’
Kate has since made their marriage Instagram official and has changed her surname from Wright to Ferdinand on the photo-sharing site.
Speaking on the wedding stress, she said: ‘I had been having a dress made since January but it all went wrong and it just wasn’t made right. A week before we flew to Turkey, I still didn’t have a dress. it was a total nightmare and I was stressed!’
The newlywed beauty added: ‘I had to have an entire new dress made by The Wedding Club and fitted within a week. In the end I adored my dress and preferred it to the original. Some things are meant to be.’
Rio claims that Kate Wright coming into his family’s lives was ‘fate’ and he believes she was sent to them after he lost his first wife.
The sportsman admitted: ‘I cried as soon as the day started. Seeing Tia walk up the aisle before Kate set me off. It was just so emotional. There was just no going back on the emotion, that’s why I had to keep my shades on!
‘Seeing Tate and Lorenz walk Kate down the aisle was particularly poignant and we wouldn’t have wanted to do it any other way. They were so proud and they couldn’t wait to do that, they felt important.’
