A Nigerian medical doctor has revealed that 3 out of 10 Nigerian men are not biological fathers of their children and encourages DNA tests at birth.
Doctor Ayeni took to his social media page to reveal that many Nigerian fathers are not the biological father of their children as has the 2nd highest rate of paternity fraud in the world after Jamaica.
He had initially shared the story of a patient who visited his hospital only for a test to show the daughter is a sickle cell carrier. When he advised that the father be invited to the hospital for counselling, the mother immediately started begging that her husband who is AA must not know his daughter has the condition. She would be unable to explain to him.

A child was brought in by the mother with a PCV of 8%. We discovered that the child has Sickle Cell Disease. I informed the mother & asked her to come with the father so that I can counsel them together. She begged me not to tell the ‘father’ who is AA. Guys, DNA test is a must!
