The United States Embassy in Nigeria may have put visa interviews on hold as applicants are currently unable to get interview dates.
Some of the applicants who have paid visa fees and other charges ranging from $160 to $265 (about N58,000 to N200,000 at the applicable exchange rate of N370 to the dollar) are yet to get interview dates.
A message on the embassy’s portal, which can only be accessed after payment of visa fees says that, “There are currently no appointment dates available.”
The embassy is yet to issue an official explanation for the development.
