Atiku Abubakar’s son-in-law, Abdullahi Babalele was granted bail by a Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday August 15.
The son-in-law of the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election was granted bail of N20million with one surety in like sum, after being arraigned before Justice Nicholas Oweibo on charges of laundering $140,000 during the general elections which he pleaded not guilty to.
Conditions attached to the bail include depositing his passport (which has been with the prosecution) with the court, having a surety who must be resident in Lagos and must produce evidence of means through an affidavit.
Recall TGM reported that Atiku’s lawyer Uyiekpen Giwa-Osagie and his brother Erhunse Giwa-Osagie, were also arraigned on a separate charge of laundering $2million.
