The arrest of music artist, Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has continued to draw comment by fellow musicians, celebrities and Nigerians.
Naira Marley who is known for his support for internet fraudsters or cyber criminals, popularly called Yahoo boys were arrested by the men of the EFCC on May 10, 2019 in company of Zlatan Ibile and three others.
Four days later, Zlatan Ibile and three others were released on administrative ground while Marley was retained over overwhelming evidence against him according to the anti-grafting.
Popular Nigeria dance hall singer, John Asiemo a.k.a Daddy Showkey, last week appeal to the EFCC to temper justice with mercy and release.
The veteran singer took to his Instagram page:
@daddyshowkey where he posted a video which has since gone viral.
He said:
“A lot of una dey call me because of Naira Marley, una dey say I nor wan put mouth for Naira Marley matter.
“Me, I nor go put my mouth for where small pikin dey insult em elders and some people dey try to make the elder look stupid when he dey talk the truth.
“But I go only talk say pikin no go bad, we go say make them kill am. We go find a way to save am…Me,
“I go beg the EFCC make them temper justice with mercy make them look around way to go about this investigation because this young man just dey grow.”

Also on the arrest, Nigerian Singer, David Adeleke popularly called Davido also called on EFCC to immediately release Naira Marley.
Davido said:
“Free bro, nothing spoil I got you”.
Another popular musician, Olamide also encourage Naira Marley fans to stay strong:
“Stay positive Marlians,” Olamide said.
While former Big Brother Nigeria Housemate took to his instagram page to weigh in on the issue. Dee-One wrote:
”Kudos to EFCC on this one let’s learn to lead by example. “Nigeria no be the USA, At least people go begin to learn a lesson from here.”
