The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Lagos zonal office, has given details about the arrest of Nigerian musician, Afeez Fashola, a.k.a Naira Marley.
Naira Marley was arrested in Lagos in the early hours of Friday alongside fellow musician, Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael a.k.a Zlatan. Their arrest followed a raid on their home at 9, Gbangbila Street, Ikate, Lekki, Lagos.
The agency, in a press release Friday afternoon, explained that the two musicians were arrested in connection with alleged case of internet fraud & money laundering. EFCC said intelligence report also linked the suspects to cybercrime offence.
Those arrested with them are Tiamiu Abdulrahman Kayode, Adewunmi Adeyanju Moses and Abubakar Musa.
The anti-graft agency stated that “at the point of arrest, the Commission found and recovered a number of items, including laptops, from the suspects.”
It added: “They have so far volunteered useful information about their involvement in the alleged criminal activities, even as investigations continue.”
