A gubernatorial campaign co-ordinator of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has been shot by suspected assassins in Owerri, Imo State.
Engr Nnamdi Nsorom, who co-ordinates the governorship campaign of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the PDP Governorship candidate in Imo State, was shot on Thursday afternoon in his Owerri residence by unknown gunmen.
Nsorom was rushed to the emergency unit of the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri where he is currently recuperating from his injuries. He was shot in the chest and arm.
Hon. Ihedioha also paid a visit to him upon hearing about the development.
It will be recalled that political activities in the state are currently heightened as the state governorship elections are scheduled to hold on Saturday. Ihedioha will be squaring off with Top Contenders like Uche Nwosu of the Action Alliance(AA), Ifeanyi Araraume of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Ikedi Ohakim of Accord Party.
