Senator Dino Melaye is reportedly unwilling to leave the hospital, even after declared fit to stand for trial by the police over negative medical test after an 8-day siege at his house.
Dino Melaye who reportedly refused to leave his hospital bed for appearance in a Lokoja court over charges of criminal conspiracy and attempted culpable homicide, has reportedly tested negative to every medical test conducted on him.
It was gathered that the Senator representing Kogi West at the red chamber, urged the police to relocate him to National hospital after three days of treatment at Police hospital in Garki, Abuja, a request the police Authority described as Nigerian Home video part 2.
Recall that the police on Friday acknowledged that controversial senator, Dino Melaye, surrendered days after the police laid siege to his house in Abuja.
The police laid siege to Mr Melaye’s house some days ago after the lawmaker allegedly refused to appear before the police for questioning. He is wanted for his alleged role in the shooting of a police officer who is still in the hospital, the police said.
Reacting to the surrender in a statement by its spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood, the police said Mr Melaye “is currently in police custody for investigation, and subsequently, taken to police hospital, Abuja for medical attention and he is in stable condition.”
