The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress has cleared eight aspirants to contest for the party’s governorship ticket in Kwara State.
That cleared include, a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Oba Abdulraheem, and the Director General of the Nigeria Broadcast Commission, Ishaq Modibbo Kawu.
This was contained in a statement signed by the acting National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Yekini Nabena, in Abuja, on Saturday.
The statement read, “The following aspirants have been cleared by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the recommendation of the governorship screening panel to contest the governorship primaries in Kwara State.

“Two aspirants, Abdulfatai Yahaya and Mohammed Dele Belgore voluntarily withdrew from the race.” The statement was however silent on the date for the conduct of the exercise.
