Gov. Ajimobi Approves Tue. 11-09-2018 A Public Holiday To Mark Muslim New Year “HIJRAH 1440 AH”

The Oyo State Governor, Senator Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi has declared Tuesday, 11th of September as a work-free day for Oyo State Workers, In a statement issued & signed by the Secretary to the state government, Ismail Olalekan Alli.

In a copy of the letter obtained by our correspondent, He says the holiday is to enable Muslim faithfuls to observe the Islamic new calendar year, 1st Muharram (HIJRAH 1440 AH).

Also, the letter was quoted as saying “His Excellency has also enjoined all & sundry to use this occasion to pray for Peace, Unity & Sustainability of the state in particular and country in general”.
