Tianjin Teda and Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel yesterday dismissed speculations about a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce, by posting his training photo with Chinese club Tianjin Teda ahead of the new season.
Turkish news portal Sabah reported over the weekend that the 30-year-old was set to sign a contract which runs to June 2020 and is worth €3-million per year.
“Pre season with Tianjin TEDA. Hard work for the new season and an exciting year ahead,” Mikel posted on Instagram. Mikel helped Tianjin Teda escape relegation with 13 league appearances in his debut season.
Later in this year, Mikel who doubles as the Super Eagles skipper will be aiming to lead the three-time African Cup of Nations champions to glory when the World Cup begin in Russia in June.
